Everything was authenticated by the State of California yesterday and overnighted to The Assistant Stork today! Hopefully have it back in time for my s-i-l to take back to Rwanda with her. Getting closer..........
Now if I could just find a way to make a couple thousand dollars in a couple of weeks! Adoption is expensive, even when you're doing it independently. There's gotta be way. There's gotta be a way.

Progress!
We finally received our I-171H on Saturday. All-in-all I think it took about three weeks to receive it which is slower than I thought it would be but that's ok.
We're off to get everything notarized on Wednesday evening. A sister of a friend has volunteered to do all documents for $100 which is AWESOME. Thank you to Jessie (as my little Eli likes to call her) and to her sis. Truly, truly awesome, as every dollar counts during this very expensive journey.
After that we will get everything authenticated on Friday by the State of Cali and then off to the Assistant Stork! Our goal is to have everything back by mid August so that my sis-in-law can take it back with her to Rwanda, which will also save us about $200 in FedEx fees. We have to get our medical paperwork redone but I think that we can get that done by the end of this week and then notarized and authenticated.
On a separate note, there is a bit of tension in our daughter's (and many of your children's) country right now. Please pray that everything is settled peacefully and that the adoption process at the ministry continues to move along during this election period.
