We Got a Number!!!

Ok.  Our lawyer emailed us early this a.m. and told us that we are number 135 out of 150 which is better than I thought.  I knew there were about 150 families waiting but really thought we were 150.  I'll take 15 ahead of that.

I keep reading different rumors.  Some say their lawyers/contacts have told them that Rwanda is trying to get through two dossiers per day.  Some say one.  I read in our Yahoo group last week that the Ministry is getting through two per week.  I hope that the first two rumors are true : )  Either way, patience is not one of my virtues but I'm trying to be faithful (also, one of my struggles).

I've started praying for our daughter A LOT MORE and her birth mother.  Has she been born yet?  I guess this adoption never really seemed real to me until this week since we're so far down the line.

I know it sounds crazy but I do still worry that if they do approve 1-2 dossiers per day, then they will run out of infants and especially infant girls, as I'm guessing that they are the most popular request.  I think that we would've been happy with any age girl really, but our homestudy agency would not allow us to disrupt our birthorder.....sigh...so I just trust God that this will not happen before our paperwork times out.

On a separate note, I've started a website for my hand stamped jewelry and should be done setting it up within a week so I will post the link to it once it's done.  It would be great if you take a look, pray for us and pass us onto your friends and family and maybe even buy something if you find something you like!  Adoptive parents, of course, get a discount, as do law enforcement, EMS and fire fighter families

Wondering what is going on...

Well, I FINALLY got caught up on all of my adoption blog reading last night and it looks like it was a good night to read as there have been so many supposed developments.  The only problem is it's so hard to know what's true.  I hope that everything that I've been reading is true but I guess all we can do is wait and see.

It seems that people have been assigned numbers, "136", "140", "43".....and on and on.  We haven't gotten a number and neither have either of my sisters-in-law, one of them who lives in Kigali.  Sooooooooo, I'm pretty sure we're dead last, with maybe one family behind us...or two.  Maybe that's why we haven't received a number??  But like I said, neither of Tim's sisters have gotten a number either and they're both pretty far ahead of us.

They supposedly sent out approvals yesterday to some families and are trying to approve two dossiers per day.  I know this sounds kinda crazy but I've been wondering if they're going to run out of baby girls!  I know.  Ridiculous....but these are the things that run through my mind.

So I'm trying to not get my hopes up or to get too excited.  It's hard though because I feel like it may be closer than I've been anticipating.  If they truly do go through two dossiers per day, we would be approved in January sometime with travel a few months after that.  I guess I'm just gonna have to take my sis-in-law's advice and just trust God's timing.....and hope that they don't run out of baby girls under 12 months.

On a seperate note, I had a GREAT response to my jewelry.  I was truly surprised and feel blessed by everyone's support.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!!!  And please remember that the closer we get to Christmas the more busy I will be so please be sure to get your orders in ASAP.

Thanks for checking in.
