Page 8 and Quilting??

So I've recently been inspired (again) to start quilting, by Laura Kelley at Pitter Patter Art.  While I was trying to choose fabrics for my sister-in-law's shower gift, a matching bib, burp cloth and onesie, I was completely mesmerized by Laura's fabrics.  They were like scrapbook papers just waiting to be used!!  I've wanted to start quilting for awhile but the urge was overwhelming when I saw her fabrics.  So here's a photo of my first four squares put together.  My friend Trish has been teaching me.  I've hand stitched everything so far (just because that's how Trish does it and because I can't sew a straight line with a sewing machine to save my life).  I'm making this quilt for our daughter in Rwanda.  I'm hoping that once she's home she likes this little quilt as much as her brothers love their blankies, lovies and babies (yes, Eli has a teddy bear that he calls "Baby", it's super cute).

Next week after I'm done sewing all of the squares together she's going to teach me how to use the sewing machine and sew the back on along with the border.  I got brown minky chenille for the back and a satiny ivory border.  It's gonna be so cute!  Anyway, here's a quilt that my friend Trish has been working on.  It's beautiful.  I love the colors!

So as soon as my quilt is finished I will post the photos!  As far as my "Page 8" news goes, something I learned when starting your own website that is to become a source of income, is how people get to page one of Google or any other search engine.  It took a bit of researching but I found that they pay companies called SEO companies to actually do the work for them (it's very time consuming, especially if you don't know what you're doing).  So I hired an SEO company to help me get to page one with all of my keywords and today when I looked under "hand stamped jewelry" I was on page 8!!!!  I started on who-knows-what page, moved to page 16, then to page 9 and then to page 18 and finally now am on page 8.  I'm sure that I will move down a bit again but so far page 8 has been the best ranking I've had and that's reassuring since we really need the income to help pay for the adoption costs so far!  So page 8 is definitely great!
