Hmmmmm.....How's about a new quilt for each nephew?

ok, i decided last week to make a quilt for each of our new nephews with photos from their first few days of meeting their new families (or in one nephew's case, finally being united with his new family whom he met over a year ago).  i'm going to be starting on them today and i'm super excited to complete them and for my new little nephews to have soft and cuddly new blankies with photos of their new fams that they can look and be comforted with at any time.  i'll post photos when i'm done but for now i'll just post the fabrics that i'll be using for each nephew.

this lil' rascals line is going to be for my little two year old nephew, eric.  i love the little adorable characters and i think the colors are perfect for my sister-in-law.

this urban baltiks will be for my five year old nephew, john marcel.  i really wanted to use something more "kid like" but felt like he might grow out of the fabrics too soon so my mom-in-law helped me choose this line of fabrics.  they look to me like they could be african fabrics that you would find in rwanda.

i've also finished another baby quilt.  this one is with the hideaway line of fabrics by lauren and jesse jung for moda.  i love, love, love the colors and inspiration for these fabrics:  damasks, cuckoo clocks, cozy hideaways in the swiss alps....it's all beautiful.  here are some photos of my finished quilt that i just listed on etsy in my quilt shop.  i also used a green minky chenille on the back and minky chenille squares on the front mixed in with the hideaway charm squares.

hope you're all having a great weekend so far!  no new news on the adoption front but we do get to meet one of our nephews in a couple of days so really, that's a great close second : )
